How To Get Better Quality Pictures With Your HTC Desire

HTC Desire Camera Mod

Step 1: Remove rear cover from back of phone.
Step 2: Push out plastic lens protector from back cover of Desire from the inside and put back on phone.
Step 3: Enjoy noticeably sharper images.

For Pro Users

  • Set white balance manually, I find HTC’s settings are sometimes wrong.
  • Buy Vignette off Android market for fancy effects.

Note: I take no responsibility if you break your phone or scratch the camera lens because you’re not careful enough. Perform mod at your own risk.

Fruit Ninja released today on Android!

Fruit Ninja

I just saw this pop up on the android market and this one is the genuine version made by the same developers as the iphone version, Halfbrick. If you have an Android phone there’s no excuse not to get it(unless $0.99 USD is just too steep a price for you…) so go play!

Update on HTC Desire

HTC Desire

After waiting for what seems like forever for my carrier Telstra to release the latest version of Android (2.2 also known as Froyo) for my HTC Desire, I gave in and rooted the phone so I could install a custom rom. Started off with the stock HTC rom which was a step forward and gave the phone some of the functionality it was missing. Then I started checking out alternative 3rd party roms and one that I came across was T-mod. This is a version of LeeDroid’s custom HTC rom with added functionality that has been modified to work properly with Telstra’s unmetered and mobile specific content services. I doubt I could go back to the stock 2.2 rom once Telstra releases it because this custom rom has so much extra functionality over the stock rom. And, to top it off, there’s finally an Android version of Angry Birds!

Only downside is I now have no warranty… but I can live with those consequences because this phone is now living up to it’s full potential.
